Lynton and Lynmouth

Lynton and Lynmouth are two pretty villages situated one above the other on a gorge at the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Popular with the Victorians the area around Lynmouth and Lynton was once known as little Switzerland. Lynmouth is nestled beneath the cliffs and has a picturesque harbour.

Valley of the Rocks

Valley of the Rocks

This dry rocky valley runs parallel to the cliffs just outside of Lynton where Exmoor meets the sea. Popular with walkers the Valley of the Rocks has unique weathered rock formations and is home to a herd of wild goats.

Cliff Railway

Lynton and Lynmouth are connected to each other via the world famous Cliff Railway which works a bit like a lift taking you on a breathtaking trip down 862 feet of track with panoramic views of the Devon coastline.
